Breakr.tv

Connect your Whatnot account

Link your Whatnot show to Breakr so chat, bids, and sales flow in.

What this connects

Breakr reads your live Whatnot show from your browser and forwards events (chat messages, bids, follows, viewer counts, sales) to your Breakr workspace. The link happens automatically once the extension is installed and you are signed in. There is no API key to copy. There is no OAuth popup. The extension pairs your Whatnot tab with your Breakr account via a browser cookie.

How to confirm the link is active

  1. Install the Breakr Chrome extension.
  2. Sign in to breakr.tv.
  3. Open any Whatnot live show in the same Chrome window.
  4. Look at the top of the Whatnot page — the Breakr pill should be green, labeled "Connected".
  5. Open /connections in another tab. It shows your extension lease and the last event received.

Status indicators

  • Green pill, "Connected" — events are flowing. Chat, bids, and sales land in your Breakr workspace in real time.
  • Amber pill, "Idle" — the extension is paired but the current Whatnot tab is not on a live show. Open a live show and the pill flips to green.
  • Red pill, "Not signed in" — the extension cannot talk to your Breakr workspace. Click the pill or the extension icon, sign in on the popup, and reload the Whatnot tab.
  • Red pill, "Lease taken" — another browser or window captured the lease. Close the other Chrome window; this one picks up the lease on the next event.

Multiple windows / multiple accounts

Breakr grants one active lease per tenant. If you open Whatnot in two Chrome windows at the same time, the second one wins the lease and the first goes to amber. Close the extra window to re-arm the first.

For a shared operator setup (owner + moderator each on their own machine), the newest sign-in wins. Coordinate so only one browser is on the live Whatnot show at a time.

Owner-tenant note

Multi-tenant support ships in a future release. Today, Breakr runs with one owner tenant (set via OWNER_TENANT_SLUG). All extension events route to that tenant's workspace. If you are the owner, nothing to do — just install the extension and sign in.
