Add OBS browser sources

Set up the scoreboard, hit alerts, and chat ticker overlays in OBS.

Available overlays

  • Scoreboard — live break scoreboard. Shows current spot, buyer per team, hit counts.
  • Hit alert — full-screen alert that fires when you log a hit. Includes buyer name + card name + rarity label.
  • Chat ticker — scrolling bottom bar showing new followers, chat messages, redemptions.
  • Starting soon — pre-stream countdown with your channel branding.
  • Reconcile — end-of-show summary with top hits and biggest buyers.

Add a browser source in OBS

1

Open the overlay URLs

In Breakr, open /connections. The Overlays panel lists one browser-source URL per overlay. Each URL is unique to your channel; do not share it publicly.

2

Add in OBS

In OBS, pick the scene for your live break. Right-click Sources → Add → Browser. Paste the overlay URL. Set Width 1920, Height 1080.

3

Set the shutdown flag

In the browser-source properties, check "Shutdown source when not visible". This stops the overlay from holding a socket connection when its scene is inactive — important if you add the same overlay to multiple scenes.

4

Layer the overlays

Order from bottom to top: camera (bottom), scoreboard, chat ticker, hit alert (top; invisible until an alert fires).

5

Test with rehearsal

Open /rehearsal in a browser. Fire a test sale, bid, and hit. Each triggers the matching overlay. If an overlay does not update, right-click the browser source and click Refresh.

Overlay URLs

Overlay URLs follow a predictable shape so you can reference them in automation:

https://breakr.tv/display/<your-tenant-slug>/scoreboard
https://breakr.tv/display/<your-tenant-slug>/hit-alert
https://breakr.tv/display/<your-tenant-slug>/chat-ticker
https://breakr.tv/display/<your-tenant-slug>/starting-soon
https://breakr.tv/display/<your-tenant-slug>/reconcile

All overlay routes are intentionally excluded from Breakr's PostHog instrumentation so OBS's continuous page-view does not pollute your analytics.

Styling and theme

Overlays follow the Breakr dark theme by default. Light theme and per-channel palette customization ship in a future release. If you need custom colors today, set the overlay as a browser source and add a Color Correction filter in OBS to tint the layer.
